Today, many people are attending nondenominational churches which embrace what is called the “prophetic“ ministry. When we use the term prophetic, it is generally thought to mean that God is speaking to His people by communicating His Word, thoughts and purposes through various venues. The most common ways in which we hear the voice of God is through the Scripture, prayer, inspired preaching, teaching, worship songs, inward impressions, spiritual dreams and visions etc.
Every Christian has the innate ability to regularly hear from the Lord and respond. Every believer can also testify by sharing His Word with others. A blanket view of prophecy could be described as God communicating His ”intention” to mankind.

The Wilderness Story
Prophetic Manna got its name from the book of Exodus where God spoke prophetically to a man named Moses and then sent him to Egypt to liberate the children of Israel from the bondage of slavery. In order to bring about this historic deliverance, the Lord had to first communicate His thoughts and purposes to His servant. Being obedient to the voice of the Lord, Moses rose up in faith and carefully began executing God's plan and purposes. As the Lord continued to communicate with Moses, God was then able to shower the Hebrew people with His love and grace; exhibiting many amazing miracles! However, when they left Egypt, God spoke to Moses again, telling him to lead His people into the barren wilderness. The only problem with this was that there was no food or water there. It was during this dry desert experience that God was teaching His children that they could now depend on HIM for their provisions, including their daily bread. But when they got hungry, they began to murmur and complain against the Lord's servants, Moses and Aaron, thinking the leadership was supposed to provide. Although the Lord heard their complaints, He nonetheless graciously sent Manna from heaven for them to eat. Every morning, when they woke up, there would be tiny round wafer like pieces of bread lying on the ground waiting to be collected and used as daily provision.
This story is a reminder of how God went His Son, Jesus into the world to be our Savior and deliverer from the slavery of sin. He is the True Bread of Life that came down from Heaven. Those who believe in Him, like Moses, can learn to listen and hear His Spirit speaking to them prophetically, revealing His intentions. God communicates His thoughts and purposes to His children, speaking to them through the Scriptures, prayer, preaching, teaching, worship and other innumerable ways. He is our heavenly source of daily sustenance. It is through faith and obedience to His Word that the promises of God become a reality in our lives. He feeds us with Prophetic Manna and He is the One True source of Life and provides spiritual, physical and natural nourishment and provision. Jesus said, "Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty." Jesus is the Word of God - our Manna from Heaven.
"Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved." If you have not done so, pray and invite Jesus into your life. You will never be the same!
